10 Ways to Improve the Yale 1982 Website
By Tom Suh
Understanding that the site was just launched, may we consider some (eventual) improvements to our class website?
One area which needs work is the "In Memoriam" link. It would be nice to have a photo, a recent biography, or a personal statement from one of us as a tribute to our classmates who have died since graduation. For example, I noticed that Harry Arlis' high school class has such a page...

Consider adding a sidebar that lists recently added or updated profiles. It would be easier than doing alphabetical searches.

Is it possible to have a web hosting site for photos? It would be fun to have some old "college days" photos scanned in and posted there.

Tom:
Suggestion #2: The suggestion to feature recently updated profiles is a good one and has been added to the wishlist of site enhancements to be addressed when time and Class resources permit.

Tom:
Suggestion #3: Having yale82.org provide a web hosting site for photos. Class members can post a photo with a Blog. For multiple photos, many people like to use sites that are available for free from their film-developers, ISPs or other suppliers to post albums of personal photos. If you would like to scan some "college days" photos and post them to such a site you can link to it from your profile by posting the URL in the "personal website" or "other website" field in "My Profile." Having the Class use its limited resources to provide a web hosting site for photos-- as well as the tech support associated with such a service-- would probably not make good sense of Class Treasury funds and resources.

Is there a way to toggle the comment view on the blog? I'd like to have the option to quickly scan the entries, then read comments for the ones I choose...

Michael,
your suggestion #4 re: scanning discussions
The "past entries" tab above gives a collapsed summary of active discussions (although individual topics still display as a longer, uncompressed string of comments). If replies could be indexed in a similar fashion it would make reviewing faster.

Natalie,
re: Yale '82 photo site
Thanks for your reply and recommendations.
I know of an inexpensive web (photo) hosting site that bills only for storage. There is no additional fee for bandwith use/high traffic. I would be willing to set up an account for our class with uploading instructions if others are interested (on my nickel).
